Story of Couture Hippique
Couture Hippique started in 1998 by Jose Kouwenhoven on the Bergselaan in Rotterdam.
Fashion with a passion for horses. Haute Couture, fashion, accessories and later also sports wear.
In 2009, the clothing regulations for the equestrian competition changed. Jose was the first to launch a collection especially for the competitions. Couture Hippique gave a fashion show on horseback for the first time at Outdoor Gelderland, how colored jackets, hats and boots looked in the competition ring.
Couture Hippique broke through internationally and the brand was sold to stores in Japan, Scandinavia, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Belgium and Germany.
They also organized a model competition: “Who will be the face of Couture Hippique?”. The jury included: Tamara Elbaz, known from Modemeisjes and later The Real Housewives of Amsterdam and Tamara and Maria Therapy Trip.

Biography Jose Kouwenhoven:
In 1996 Kouwenhoven made her debut as a dressage rider. She won a silver medal with the Dutch team at the European Championships. In 1997 Kouwenhoven won gold at the Dutch Championships and represented the Netherlands at the European Championships. Here she won 2 silver medals, individually and with the Dutch team.
She was nominated as sports talent of Rotterdam, then as sportswoman of Rotterdam. A few years later she was allowed to go to the World Championships for young horses for the Netherlands.

Sustainability
Couture Hippique works hard to extend the lifespan of its clothing. The love for nature is always central. When choosing fabrics, advertising material and packaging, careful selection is made. Choices are made with an eye for environmentally friendly fabrics and production processes.
The clothing is repaired or possibly adjusted to a different size during its entire life cycle, if necessary.
